Butterfly Day
Each year, Rod 'N' Reel Resort honors Butterfly Day on May 14th, a tradition that holds a special place in our hearts. The day commemorates when Gerald W. Donovan received a life-saving double lung transplant, a gift that gave him nearly a decade of additional time to spend with his family, friends, team members, and the community he loved.
In his memory, the resort is decorated with hundreds of butterflies, symbolizing hope, renewal, inspiration, and the lasting impact one life can have on so many others. Butterfly Day serves as a celebration of life, gratitude, and the memories we continue to cherish together.
